The 240 credit undergraduate level 4/5 health and social care course is intended to expedite students’ progress to the last year of a related undergraduate degree in the health and social care field. The last year of the top-up degree can be finished on campus or remotely at a UK university.

Overview

This course’s level 4 modules and assignments are equal to the first year of an undergraduate degree. The assignments and level 5 modules are comparable to the second year of a university degree.

This course consists of five level 5 modules and assignments and six level 4 modules and assignments totaling 120 credits (120 credits). A student who chooses to pursue level 4 studies solely will earn 120 credits and be eligible to request an exemption from the first year of a university degree program.

Each module has information for about 40 guided study hours and an additional 30 to 50 hours of optional learning. These materials include suggested books, exercises, and internet resources.

This module’s goal is to help learners comprehend the procedures used in the hiring, managing, and professional development of staff members in the health and social care industries. Learners will look at the procedures used to manage people in the health and social care workplace as well as how to encourage change within the organization in this lesson.

Sociology: ideas about good and bad health

The purpose of this module is to help learners understand how sociological notions of health and ill health are used to care practices in the fields of social and medical care. It will allow students to comprehend the nature of modern society and how it affects how people perceive health and bad health. The structure of society in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic class, family, and homes, as well as how these factors affect health and wellbeing, will be examined by the learners.

The guiding principles for social and health care

This module’s goal is to help students gain an awareness of the principles, philosophies, and laws that guide health and social care practice as well as the systems in place to support ethical behavior in the industry.

In order to empower and include service users, this module’s goal is for learners to have an awareness of many views on the quality of health and social care services and how it is assessed.

Collaboration in health and social care

The purpose of this module is to help students appreciate the value of forming constructive partnerships with others in the fields of health and social care. Students will investigate three different aspects of collaboration. They will first look at collaborations with service users that support independence and allow people to make informed decisions. Second, students will examine inter-agency functioning and relationships between various health and social care professions. Finally, students will research organizational relationships and look at various forms of collaboration.

Working with customers that have complicated demands

This unit’s goal is to better prepare students to comprehend health, disability, and sickness concerns as well as how medical professionals may enable patients with complicated physical and mental health requirements to make their own care decisions.

Students will have the chance to apply for admission to a full BA degree program at a number of UK institutions after completing this course. Students may also choose to do our level 4/5 business management diploma and then go on to one of many UK institutions to earn a BA as a top-up.

There are six modules and six written tasks in the level 3 course. Each module has 40 hours of guided learning content and an extra 30 to 50 hours of optional content, which includes suggested exercises, readings, online resources, and self-testing activities.

You must be at least 18 and have completed your secondary school in order to enroll in the level 4 course. You must have completed a level 4 course or its equivalent before enrolling in the level 5 one.

There are six written tasks at level 4 and five written assignments at level 5 of the level 4/5 diploma in health and social care. Each assignment is between 2,000 and 3,000 words long.
